Dear All,

Tomorrow is our last FULL class. Please bring your essay on Joseph Campbell's Hero's Journey. We will have a peer review. Next week we have one last hour together to prepare for the exam. Bring your essays if you want some feedback.

Today we talked about the structure of your exam.

1) If you sign up to take the exam, you need to submit your portfolio a week earlier. (For the first exam, you have a couple of extra days. Those will be communicated.)

2) Your Portfolio will be three essays. (25/100 points of your final grade)

--Your choice: Childhood essay or Professor Jones essay

-- Tiny Love story

-- Hero's journey story

3) Whether or not you attend the class or not, your exam is the same. Your exam will be written by hand. No dictionaries.

4). Structure of the exam.

Part one with Prof. Sarah Winteringham. See her for details.

Part two with me.

A) General Questions (open ended) from our discussions (25 points) B) Peer Review (Read an essay, correct and give feedback)  (25 points) C) Essay (about one of the topics we covered in class-- example: Free writing, Writing Process, Storytelling, Structure, Characters, Hero's Journey, etc.) (25 points)

5) I sent you some additional resources. Use them! Enjoy them! Think about them! Apply them!

See you tomorrow.

Best,
Karoline Steckley
