Goodmorning,
I'm Caterina Medeot, first year of Biotecnologie Mediche. I tried to download the book suggested for the course, but unfortunately the site request a login.
I've found on the internet the first version of it but I don't know if it can be fine as well.
Please could you help me to find the second version of the book until the library reopens?
About the quality of audio and video, they were both fine.
Thank you
Dear student, You should be able to download the book from UNITS nethwork using a VPN (https://vpn-client.units.it/)
In any case, don't worry, the first version of the book is perfect till the final two lesson. And I will provide you the book during one of the next lectures.
I am preparing the lecture right now, but you will find me in any case on teams this afternoon around 4.00 pm to answer possible doubts.

Good morning prof,
I would rather have MS Teams lesson on this Thursday; also, i would like to know if it's possibile to download the pdf of the recommended book from Whiley web site, without being connected to University's wifi.
Thanks for your help.

Good afternoon Professor,
I have a technical doubt regarding the excitation filter.
The excitation filter is responsible to select the wavelength, right? But this wavelength is selected electronically (on the microscope) or will I have to, if I want to make a confocal microscopy, physically change the filter for each fluorophor I will use?
Sincerely,
Caio
AS you will see in future lessons in the case of confocal microscopy the
light source is different because you use a laser light.
The nature of the laser allow to almost precisely select the excitation
wavelength of the light without ex filter. Often it remain present on
the confocal microscopes the ex filter but can be different technically.
The most new and expensive confo microscopes use an "electronic" filter
that allow you to change the property of the "filter" without having
phisical mouving parts.
In brief, it is true that using laser light on confocal or led light on
epifluo microscope you could theoretically call out the excitation
filter but at least on epifluo microscope you generally keep them in
order to be sure of the wavelength you are using.

Good morning,
I appreciate your answer professor. It has really helped me to clarify.
Sincerely,
