Dear Diary
Lesson 4/11/2024
Review of pronouns
Pronouns are a major subclass of nouns. They can sometimes replace a noun in a sentence.
Personal pronouns replace nouns that refer to people.
For example: John got a new job --> He got a new job
Personal pronouns have a subject and object form. We see the subject form in the example above (he).
In the sentence below, I can't replace John with 'he'. I have to use the objective form:
I gave John a new job --> I gave him a new job
These are called subject and object pronouns.
What are the other types of pronoun?
Possessive
Reflexive
Reciprocal
Relative
Demonstrative
Interrogative
Indefinite
