Multi-word verbs in a dictionary

What do multi-word verbs look like in a dictionary?

In dictionaries, all three types of multi-word verbs are all grouped together under ‘phrasal verbs’.

However, you can tell the difference between phrasal and prepositional verbs by where they put the noun object (sb/smth).

Look at the following examples taken from the Oxford Learner's Dictionary.

In prepositional verbs, the object (somebody / something) comes after the whole verb.

In phrasal verbs, the object (somebody / something) comes in the middle of the verb.

A phrasal-prepositional verb with two objects will be listed as above.

A phrasal-prepositional verb with 1 object will be listed as above.
