sorry for the long message, but Alessio and I have some major updates for the upcoming week(s).
As anticipated during yesterday’s lecture, starting from Monday 19, there will be the possibility to, eventually, follow the lectures in presence.
The room assigned to our course is Room “TA”, which is located on the ground floor of Building D (the former Faculty of Economics, next to Building A). The room is very spacious and can accomodate up to around 150 people (~70 during CoViD time).
One thing we recognized during today’s visit to the room is that the electric plugs under the desks have not yet been installed: there are only a total of 13 wall plugs. Prof. Ansuini will render available a couple of power strips to be used in the central seats; however, in order to avoid issues, we suggest you make sure your PC is fully loaded if you wish to use it during lectures. In addition to that, it could be useful for yourself and others if you brought a multi-plug adapter (sdoppiatore) with you.
For those who wish to continue attending the course on-line, of course we will make sure you can still follow the lectures on Teams at the best quality possible.
For those who, on the other hand, will be following in-presence, here’s a recap of the rules issued by the Rector:
-
The use of face masks is mandatory both in- and outside of the buildings. Moreover, to follow lectures in presence, it is compulsory to use a surgical mask, an FFP2, or an FFP3 mask. No cloth masks, no multi-use masks. If you’re in need of a viable mask, you can refer to the reception desk (which should be located immediately left of the entrance in Building D).
-
It is compulsory to use the app “Safety4All” in order to book a seat for attending a lesson. Monday’s lecture is confirmedly present within the app.
Since we will need to prepare and get accustomed to the tools for the streaming (and we were given no opportunity for a trial today), Monday’s lecture will exceptionally start at 11:10 instead of 11:00. You’re advised to bring your own PC since it will be mostly a Lab lecture.
In conclusion, a few quick notes:
-
Please remember to fill in the poll for the agreement on homework sharing (we’ll close the poll on Tuesday 20)
-
We’re accepting proposals for talks for the next appointment of our Journal Club (Tuesday 20)
-
Also on Tuesday 20, we will be accepting proposals for the groups for the exam. We’ll be accepting teams up to 2 people (3 for very difficult project proposals); individual projects are also accepted.
-
On May 11 and 18, we will allocate a small time frame for the proposal of projects from the groups hereby created. We suggest you (or your group) to have a clear idea about the nature of your project by that time.
