Dear students,
this message is just to clarify some issues emerged in class.
-- The third PARTIAL TEST will be on tuesday December 21 at 9am. You are warmly encouraged to attend the test in-person, but there is also the chance to attend it on-line. Guidelines are the same as previous partial tests.
-- The last two THEORETICAL LECTURES will be tomorrow (9am, aula Morin) and December 21 after the partial test (1 hour only, 10-11).
-- The last two LABS will be on wednesday 15 and monday 20 IN PERSON (differently with respect to what I said today in class).
-- Since some of you have troubles in finding material related to this second part of the course, I suggest you some references:
1) "Generalized Additive Models" by Simon Wood (not freely available). You can check the author's website anyway to find some interesting material: https://www.maths.ed.ac.uk/~swood34/
2) "The Elements of Statistical Learning" by Hastie, Tibshirani and Friedman, freely available at https://hastie.su.domains/Papers/ESLII.pdf
