Tomorrow you will receive the rest of the results.
Update: HERE are all results (excluding the outcome for those that took the oral part)

27/05/25 - Last post before the exams: you can find the presentation of today's seminar in the usual folder below. See you soon!

    12/05/25 - Two news today:

    1. Last set of self-assessment tests: B3-B4 (Banks, Mutual funds), B5-B6 (Insurance and pensions, Securities' industry), B7-B8 (Other financial intermediaries, Derivatives).
    2. The seminar will take place during our last class (this means that you will have to bring your Qs to get my As on Monday's Q&A session). That meeting (and also the Q&A!) will NOT be recorded, but besides the prestige of the guest speaker and the validity of the contents of that meeting, I strongly recommend you to attend, since it will make some of the concepts we covered clearer, and these might be in you final test.

28/04/25 - Slight changes to our calendar (topics only, date/time unchanged).

15/04/25 - You can find an example of the exam test by clicking here. This is just to let you see in practice what is described profusely in this course's syllabus, including aims of each part and evaluation methods.

08/04/25 - Another group of self-assessment questions on topics A7 and A8 (mortgage markets, forex), B1 and B2 (financial crises, central banks), and an overall questionnaire on all topics of the first half of course (A1 to A8).

24/03/25 - Another group of self-assessment questions on topics A5 and A6 (bond markets, stock markets)

17/03/25 - Since many asked, here is a breakdown of the textbook's chapters aligning it with our classes.

10/03/25 - As promised, here you can find a series of exam-style self-assessment questions and exercises on topics A1 and A2 (financial system, interest rates), as well as on those that we will start today, A3 and A4 (Efficiency/behavioural finance, money markets).

04/03/25 - There is a long queue due to an accident on the highway. I am not involved, but I'll likely be late than 9.15 for today's lecture.

25/02/25 - As agreed after voting, lectures will begin at 12:15 on Mondays and 9:15 on Tuesdays. I always arrive early. I never exceed the scheduled lecture hours,  because I respect your time, and if I cannot make it, it will only be for serious reasons, and I will always inform you well in advance. I expect the same courtesy from you. If you are one hour late, please do not join the lecture. As two of you did today, arriving that late suggests a lack of respect for the class and for your own education. And if you believe that being a few minutes late regularly is acceptable, you are seriously mistaken. Please plan accordingly: wake up earlier, take an earlier bus, or do whatever is necessary. It is your responsibility, part of your commitment to your studies, and ultimately in your best interest.
"Five minutes before is on time. On time is late. Late is unacceptable." It is disheartening to have to explain this to adults, but if you desire to be respected, you must demonstrate respect first. How would you feel about lecturers who start classes randomly, occasionally do not show up, or consistently end lectures late? What would happen if you arrive an hour late for a job interview? Why do you think this is any different in a university setting? You will be treated as you treat others. If you wish to be treated as adults, behave accordingly. I hope you will reflect on this.

23/01/25 - Welcome to the new Financial Markets and Institutions course! This is a link to our group on MS Teams: it is NOT for attending from home, but to record classes only. Here you can find the syllabus (please read it carefully!). Below, our calendar (updated ASAP if changes occur), presentations and other class materials.
